French Doors: Specification
Constant quality control checks (we check the products during production, post production, and also random post production, well, you don't want your doors to go wrong and neither do we. In the very unlikely event that something is missed during QC be assured that we have an under-worked Customer Services department who will race to deal with any query) ensure that our doors are durable and well made so that your home will benefit from greater security, weather-proofing and lower maintenance.
A DIY competent person with common sense about building practise, following our supplied general instructions will have no difficulty installing our doors and will save, potentially, £100's...
SPECIFICATION:
Compliant with Document 'L' (Part 'L') of Building Regulations
- (White) 100% Virgin PVCu - to prevent discolouration (it keeps your nice white profile, nice and white), welded corners, 3mm outer wall - for strength and to prevent warping and cracking (as you're probably removing timber doors we don't want to give you problems with your new PVCu doors), NEW 5 chambered profiles also for strength.
- NEW 28mm BS6206 toughened double glazed units, manufactured to BS5713 and new EN1279-2. Fabricated including Planibel 'A' Low Emissivity (Low 'E') glass (unless not required) for greater thermal efficiency and to comply with Document 'L' - Low Emissivity glass allows heat from the sun into your home but reflects from internal sources, such as radiators, back into your house. (Double glazing's good, Low 'E' glass makes it even better, reduces heat loss so it costs less to keep toasty warm).
- White, chrome or gold internally secured handles to prevent the handles being removed from the outside (a small point but one we think is important).
- NEW 11 point locking consisting of 3 cams, 3 hookbolts, 2 dead bolts, 2 shootbolts on the slave door and a latch - helping to keep out those you don't want to let in (like the mother-in-law).
- NEW Opposing “Anti-lift” Hookbolts, Hookbolts move in opposing directions to prevent the door being lifted out.
- NEW Flag Hinges for extra security.
- NEW Internally beaded, fully welded system for strength and security - designed to prevent the external removal of the double glazed sealed unit by a potential intruder (in case the mother-in-law gets creative).
- Galvanised steel and/or aluminium reinforcing, cutout on handle side of sash to accommodate lock for added strength and security (this is also helpful to prevent the door flexing making for a more pleasant 'thunk' when shutting the door).
