Bay Or Bow Windows: Specification

Installation of Bay and Bow windows is a complicated procedure and should only be attempted by somebody with extensive knowledge of the practises required to install such an item.

Investment in modern machinery and skilled fabricators ensure we can provide a high standard of product and service to you, our customer. (Our Director who oversees window and door manufacture is a stickler for quality, so we train and re-train, recording administratively at each stage - it's very dull but does ensure a great end product). A DIY competent person with common sense about building practise, following our supplied general instructions will have no difficulty installing our windows and will save, potentially, £1000's...

SPECIFICATION:

Compliant with Document 'L' (Part 'L') of Building Regulations

- (White) 100% Virgin PVCu - to prevent discolouration, welded corners, approx 3mm outer wall - for strength and to prevent warping and cracking, NEW 5 chambered profiles also for strength (our beautiful new, chamfered profile windows will have you throwing out the TV and lovingly looking at your window instead).

- NEW 28mm Double glazed units, manufactured to Bs5713 and new EN1279-2. (Our sealed units are manufactured under the watchful eye of Peter. Peter is so fastidious over sealed unit manufacture that he won't even let one of the Director's use his glass cutter for fear of it being used at the wrong angle, as a result, faults with sealed units are practically unheard of). Fabricated including Planibel 'A' Low Emissivity (Low 'E') glass (unless not required) for greater thermal efficiency and to comply with Document 'L'- Low Emissivity glass allows heat from the sun into your home but reflects from internal sources, such as radiators, back into your house.

- White push-to-open, key locking handles (safer in the event of fire, push-to-open means you cannot accidentally lock yourself in and thus can survive to buy new windows from us).

- Multi-point, mushroom head, espagnolette locks (pronounced eh-span-yo-let - we know it's a silly word, but it's what the industry has called it for years, and you have to admit it's sounds more impressive than 'mushroom-lock') with night vent facility (window can be locked when slightly open for ventilation) and anti-jemmy block.

- NEW Internally beaded, fully welded system for strength and security - designed to prevent the external removal of the double glazed sealed unit by a potential intruder (holds the glass in, keeps double-glazing sales-people out).

- Positively locating, stainless steel friction stays (hinges) (removes the need for a 'stay' arm as per traditional timber windows).

- Bay Windows are supplied with Load Bearing Poles. Jacking Points and Head Plates available for a small charge, if requested.

- Bow Windows have External Trims.
